World Cheese

A silly peom I thought of on my 45minutes drive from work. It was really the hostage situation in Algeria that brought it on.  I felt terribly saddened by the news of the death of some of the hostages and a tear rolled down my left eye (happens all the time with bad news). I wondered why we couldn't just live in peace and love one another.

Anyway my brain must have decided to cheer me up because this peom made me laugh out loud.

I dream of a world of peace,
Where everyone had cheese
And though the rats may tease,
We will still be very pleased.

No 18b Bus Driver

It’s been nearly three weeks since I looked into his sexy green eyes, but everyday I waited for his bus at 6.30pm. Waiting and hoping each time that he will make an appearance.

I could catch the 18a bus at 6.00pm but everyday I choose to work an extra hour at work just so I could catch his bus. Funny how a fifteen minutes bus ride can make you fall for someone; almost to the point of obsession. I had to give myself credit though; it’s actually been fifteen minutes, every five days for more than six months…or rather five months and a week, as he seems to have disappeared in the last three weeks.

I don’t know where he’s gone and I don’t know who to ask. I didn’t even know his name but for the past three weeks different people had driven his bus. Deep down, I hoped it will only be a holiday and not a new job. Last week Friday I vowed that if I ever met him again I will not miss the opportunity of asking him out…no matter how long the queue was.

The bus stop was busy as usual and I stood at the back of a what seemed to be an endless queue. The old lady in front of me in the queue informed me the No 18a had broken down, so all its passengers were at the front of the queue.

Finally when No 18b shows up, my heart starts racing, a bit faster today than the other days. I look through the windows, but could hardly catch a glimpse of the driver. I was too far behind, yet I was sure I was at the right spot in the queue to be able to get on the bus.

With just four people ahead of me I manage to see the driver’s face. It was him!!!! I could almost hear my heart pounding. It was the green-eyed bus driver, he was back, and he looked so handsome. I had to say it today, I had to say something….I like you, I LOVE YOU, please go out with me, am obsessed... I have to get this over with today or I will go crazy.

“Its rude to stare, its rude to stare” I murmured to myself but I could hardly tear my eyes away from him. I watched as he smiled and talked to the old lady. Oh he was beautiful, his intense green eyes, short tousled hair, his full lips and gorgeous smile .

When it got to my turn I started fumbling with my bag looking for my fare, my face must have been bright pink.

“Hello” I said “am sorry” Finally handing him a £20 note. “You are back” I started,  but what I saw next made me feel faint. Am sure it was not there before.

“You got married?” I murmured I felt blood drain from my face.

“You noticed?” He smiled, as he counted my change, he seemed happy. As he handed back my changed he looked as my face still smiling.

“Are you ok? Do I know you?” He asked

“No, no you don’t, am just a customer” I said very quickly

I could barely cover the space from his seat to mine. I still felt faint and broken.  For the past months, I had been daydreaming everyday about a guy who was probably engaged and about to marry. I knew this would be the last time I got on this bus again.
